Step 2: Learn These Four Chords
Most beginner worship songs can be played with just four chords.
Learn these first:
- G
- C
- D
- Em
Don’t worry if changing between them feels slow at first.
Everyone starts there.
Practice switching between the chords a little every day, and your hands will get faster.
Step 3: How to Use a Capo
A capo lets you change the key of a song without learning new chords.
For example, you might still play G, C, D, and Em, but placing the capo on a different fret changes the song’s key.
That’s why many worship songs use a capo.
Using one is very simple.
- Place the capo just behind the fret.
- Make sure it presses all six strings evenly.
- Play your chords like normal.
